ASSESSMENT for services
The Division uses a tool called the NJCAT (New Jersey Comprehensive Assessment Tool) to see what kind of support a person needs and whether they qualify for services. It looks at how much help someone needs with things like personal care, behavior, and health. Based on the results, the person is placed into a specific level, or "tier," which determines how much money they can use each year for services. This information also helps Support Coordinators and service providers plan the best supports for that individual.
