When you’re a caregiver, one of your tasks is to provide a form of pastime for your elderly client. This is necessary, because boredom, when sustained, could lead to the feeling of anxiety and depression. Boredom, in other words, is not healthy for your charge, and for yourself as well. So, what do you do? Of course, you work to give them a pastime. A 30-minute walk each day in the outdoors is the best diversion there is. It exercises the muscles and helps to improve the sleep cycle of your client. However, what happens if the weather is inclement and you cannot go out of the house? Caregivers should take into account these factors, and come up with alternative ways to pass the time indoors. For this, book reading is a great choice! Reading is a great habit that one can cultivate at any point in their life. All people can benefit from reading, not just the elderly.
