We are dedicated to helping the elderly, and we have taken proactive steps during this challenging time to support our clients and their families. We recommend that families remember these precautions when considering ways to provide care to aging loved ones during infectious disease pandemics. Coronavirus (COVID-19) When looking at care options, consider home care as an option due to its ability to keep the elderly safe and independent in their own home by promoting social distancing. Caregivers can pick up groceries, medications, and other items that seniors need, minimizing their interaction with other people who may have been infected with the virus. Our Home Care Service Helps Protect Our Clients Our caregivers and team members have received training regarding these virus protocols:
Our team will not place a caregiver who has symptoms of virus infection on assignment or accept new clients who show symptoms that are highly consistent with the COVID-19 diagnosis or who have traveled to Level one through three areas in the last two weeks. What we currently know about the Coronavirus: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China. How the virus spreads: According to the CDC, the virus is now spreading from person to person mainly between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. A person can also get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads. A person can be infectious before showing symptoms, which is why it is important to practice proper social distancing measures. To reduce the risk of infection, older adults should avoid leaving their homes unless it’s critically necessary. A mouthwatering meal doesn`t look so appetizing when you have to eat it alone. The same way our seniors feel when they have to dine alone and have no one with whom to share their meal. How long would it take for seniors to quit cooking, start microwaving premade dinners, and eat unhealthily if they ate alone every day? Eating alone is difficult for elders, especially those who live alone. That’s where our companion care can come in. Seniors do not have to need any other help with activities of daily living. Trifecta Home Care provides caring companions to help your elderly relatives pass time and enjoy their retirement. Caregivers can accompany your seniors to the supermarket and assist them in choosing a selection of healthful meals that match their dietary choices and needs. Caregivers and/or companions will consider your seniors’ tastes and preferences while ensuring they receive appropriate nourishment during meal planning. Cooking necessitates not just the energy required to stand and prepare meals, but also the mobility required to move around the kitchen. Caregivers will provide as much assistance as is required to guarantee kitchen safety as well as a deliciously prepared dinner. Finally, caregivers can accompany and provide eating assistance while your seniors dine. Mealtime becomes a shared experience for your seniors when they have caregivers, a time for fascinating conversations and friendship. Your elderly no longer have to feel lonely at mealtimes. They can take their time eating and socializing with caregivers. Meal sharing promotes nutritional and emotional well-being. We can make mealtimes easier and more pleasurable for your senior loved ones via our services. Studies show that this simple act alone could extend your loved ones' healthspan and lifespan. Aging adults who suffer from mobility issues can follow a carefully structured, moderate physical activity program or exercise that can help improve their condition. Many seniors, however frail, can reap a lot of benefits from regular exercise. But assistance and supervision are a must for seniors who have chronic health problems. This is why 24-hour in-home care is available. As people get older, reduced mobility can raise the risk of disability, disease, and even death. A study funded by the NIH enrolled more than 1,600 adults who were aged 70 to 89 and were at risk for disability. The seniors were randomly assigned to either a moderate-intensity physical activity program or a health education program that was focused on successful aging. Over the course of the study, the seniors who followed the physical activity program were reported to have reduced risks of major mobility disability compared to those under the health education program. Participants under the physical activity program were able to maintain their ability to walk without assistance better. But if you are a senior who just started an exercise program, you don’t need to feel pressured. It’s okay if your improvement is slow. Exercise can definitely improve seniors’ mobility and overall health. They just have to do it the right way. Call Trifecta Home Care LLC today for mobility assistance. Seniors are at high risk for complications linked to COVID-19. Statistics have shown that older adults are dying at a higher rate compared to younger patients. While this pandemic has been rattling the healthcare system all over the world, we should always remember that there are plenty of ways to keep our senior loved ones healthy at home. If you need 24-hour in-home care for your senior family member, always do a background check on the company you are planning to hire. Our agency in Hammonton faithfully abides by the updated protocols for the care and protection of seniors, whether afflicted by the virus or not. Another way to care for and prioritize the health of seniors is to have them checked by a healthcare provider whenever they feel COVID-19 symptoms. Testing for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 should be the initial step because more stringent measures are required to be observed when dealing with COVID-19 positive patients. The pandemic has caused a lot of countries to issue lockdown and/or stay-at-home orders. While this can be damaging to businesses and the economy on a large scale, it is necessary to arrest and eventually stop the spread of the virus by halting physical contact. Seniors may already be experiencing isolation at home or at caregiving facilities. Thus, family members and caregivers must encourage their seniors to indulge in healthy daily activities. Our trained caregivers can assist you on this very well. Prioritizing your senior loved ones’ health must still be observed. Wear a mask when you go near them, sanitize your hands regularly, and run errands for them. If you need assistance, we are here and ready to help. Call Trifecta Home Care LLC now! When you’re a caregiver, one of your tasks is to provide a form of pastime for your elderly client. This is necessary, because boredom, when sustained, could lead to the feeling of anxiety and depression. Boredom, in other words, is not healthy for your charge, and for yourself as well. So, what do you do? Of course, you work to give them a pastime. A 30-minute walk each day in the outdoors is the best diversion there is. It exercises the muscles and helps to improve the sleep cycle of your client. However, what happens if the weather is inclement and you cannot go out of the house? Caregivers should take into account these factors, and come up with alternative ways to pass the time indoors. For this, book reading is a great choice! Reading is a great habit that one can cultivate at any point in their life. All people can benefit from reading, not just the elderly. Here are some ways that reading can positively impact your life and your health:
